Study Tours

On November 28, 2023, students and faculty members from GITAM College embarked on a study tour to the Central Toolroom and Training Centre (CTTC) as part of their academic curriculum. The visit aimed to provide students with practical insights into advanced manufacturing techniques, technological innovations, and skill development in the field of engineering.

The primary objectives of the study tour to CTTC were as follows:

Exposure to Advanced Manufacturing Technologies: To familiarize students with state-of-the-art machinery and equipment used in modern manufacturing processes.

Interaction with Industry Experts: To facilitate interactions between students and industry experts, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

Skill Development Insights: To provide insights into the various skill development programs offered by CTTC, aiding students in aligning their academic pursuits with industry requirements.

The itinerary included visits to:

Machine Shop: Students observed precision machining processes using Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, gaining insights into the principles of metal cutting and shaping.

Tool Design and Manufacturing: The tour provided a comprehensive overview of tool design concepts and the intricacies involved in creating precision tools for manufacturing purposes.

CAD/CAM Lab: Students were introduced to Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software, showcasing the role of technology in product design and development.
