Institutional extension activities for rural development in adjacent villages
Technical Training Workshops: Organize workshops to teach villagers about modern agricultural techniques, renewable energy solutions, and basic engineering skills.
Healthcare Camps: Conduct regular health camps offering medical check-ups, vaccinations, and health education on hygiene and preventive care.
Educational Programs: Provide after-school tutoring, adult literacy classes, and digital literacy programs to enhance educational outcomes.
Infrastructure Development: Collaborate with villagers to help to maintain essential infrastructure like roads, water supply systems, and sanitation facilities.
Entrepreneurship Support: Facilitate training on small-scale industries and entrepreneurship, providing guidance on business plans, and market linkages.
Sustainable Practices: Promote sustainable farming practices and environmental conservation through tree planting drives and waste management initiatives.
Skill Development: Offer vocational training in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work to increase employability.
Community Projects: Engage students and faculty in community development projects, such as plantation, blood donation camps, prevention of old cultural spot, etc.
Technology Access: Set up computer labs with internet access to bridge the digital divide and support e-learning and online services.
Research and Innovation: Encourage faculty and students to undertake research projects aimed at solving specific local problems, leading to practical, implementable solutions for rural development.
- To improve the traditional knowledge and skills of the women artisans of tribal community of Khurda by introduction of mechanized processes.
- Infusion of robust technologies to aid the manufacturing of traditional manuscript.
- Creation of social entrepreneurship by establishing forward linkages. The institute has developed a training center in the nearby tribal villages (Khurda) in conjunction with the Odisha government for the upliftment of the local people. The institute holds monthly training programs for indigenous people in order to provide them with a source of income. The training Centre is equipped with the following equipment.
