On March 23, 2024, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of GITAM (Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management) organized a campus cleaning drive with a specific focus on creating a plastic-free environment within the campus premises. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic pollution and encourage sustainable practices among students, faculty members, and staff.The cleaning drive commenced at 9:00 AM at the GITAM College campus, with an enthusiastic turnout of volunteers from various departments and academic disciplines. The event began with a brief inaugural ceremony held at the central plaza, where the NSS coordinator addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of reducing plastic usage and promoting eco-friendly alternatives.
