The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of GITAM (Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management) undertook a charitable initiative on January 11, 2024, by distributing blankets to the needy people in four locations across Odisha, namely Bhadrak, Balasore, Cuttack, and Bhubaneswar.The primary objective of the initiative was to provide warmth and comfort to those facing harsh winter conditions, especially to the underprivileged and vulnerable sections of society.The initiative was meticulously planned and executed by the NSS unit of GITAM, involving coordination among volunteers, procurement of blankets, and logistics for distribution in multiple locations. The planning phase included identifying areas with a high concentration of needy individuals and ensuring an equitable distribution of resources.The selected locations for distribution, Bhadrak, Balasore, Cuttack, and Bhubaneswar, were chosen based on an assessment of need and accessibility. Each location had a dedicated team of NSS volunteers to facilitate the distribution process smoothly.The impact of the initiative was significant, providing immediate relief to those struggling in the cold weather. Feedback from the beneficiaries and local communities was positive, highlighting the effectiveness of the NSS unit’s efforts in addressing a pressing need.
